Following Iran’s negotiations with various European countries particularly German, Austria, British, Spanish and Swiss firms, American companies have also voiced readiness to construct petrochemical plants inside the country, Managing Director of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marzieh Shah-Daei announced.
She pointed to the government’s plan to support holdings and the private sector in order to expand the country’s petrochemical industry; “in the post-sanction era, backing of all firms has been put on the agenda in order to expand the sector.”
Shah-Daei estimated that the next great leap will take place in Iran’s petrochemical industry asserting “accordingly, providing facilities and infrastructure to attract investment and financing for the development of the sector are extremely momentous.”
“In time with the removal of sanctions, we’ve had very good negotiations with European companies” noted the official maintaining “in addition to the Europeans, reputable American companies are in line for participation in the industry.”
She recalled that on top of attracting investment, Iran’s main goals include the transfer of latest technologies and knowledge as well as financing; “the upcoming Iranian year (to begin 21 March) will offer more favorable provisions for the development of the country’s petrochemical industry.”
